Toothpicks Are Out, Hourglasses Are In

A recent article says stick-thin women aren’t what men desire, and apparently, they never have been.

A Psychology Today article explains that men prefer curvaceous women, not extremely slender runway models. There are several theories behind men’s desire for a shapely mate, as well as why the world of high fashion perpetuates the waif-thin image. The bottom line, though, is that men have a different idea of what is attractive than women think they do. The article states:

When asked to predict the figure that men will find most attractive, women consistently choose a skinnier figure. … The figures that the men actually prefer are also much closer to the women’s own figures than the skinnier ones women believe that men like.

It seems most women are closer to the ideal body than they realize. Plastic surgery can enhance a woman’s curves and help her look and feel even more attractive. I have helped many women who have come to my practice in La Jolla with options such as breast implants and liposuction to enhance their hourglass figures.
