From Scottsdale to Stockholm: An Implant Education

breast implants scottsdale

I recently was one of five surgeons in the U.S. invited to spend time operating in Stockholm with Dr. Charles Randquist, an esteemed plastic surgeon with extensive experience placing anatomical (teardrop-shaped), textured breast implants. Scottsdale patients aren’t typically familiar with this implant technology, so I was grateful for the learning opportunity.

Dr. Randquist has vast experience with this shaped style of breast implants. One of the most notable aspects of his process is the ability to create beautiful and long-lasting results. The trend for breast implants in the U.S. has been smooth, round implants, so I was impressed to see how textured, teardrop-shaped implants can create a lasting, natural appearance.

The trip was a great opportunity to further my knowledge on the implant options available. Since returning, I have been using Sientra® textured implants more frequently, even though I continue to offer a full range of options. I am always striving to expand my skills to help my patients as new techniques and products become available, and I feel that textured implants will likely become a staple of high quality breast augmentation.
