Why I Perform Reconstructive Surgery

Although I love performing all types of plastic surgery in Portland, reconstructive surgery is especially meaningful to me.

As a cancer survivor, I am poignantly aware of the challenges cancer survivors face. Through my work in this field, I am also attuned to the deeply personal and psychological effects a mastectomy can have on a woman.

In addition to helping reverse the physical ramifications of breast cancer, I am proud to be able to take part in a woman’s overall healing process and to help her reclaim a part of her femininity and identity that was taken by the disease.

When choices such as when to perform the reconstructive surgery or what type of implants to choose may be overwhelming to a patient, I take special care to offer expert insight as well as sensitivity. I am dedicated to helping my patients find the path that will help them get back to feeling like themselves again.

If a mastectomy is in your past or future, please do not hesitate to contact me at my plastic surgery office in Portland with questions about how reconstructive surgery could fit into your recovery plan.
