Reasons for Rhinoplasty

Many of my Atlanta patients think rhinoplasty is simply a procedure to make a large nose smaller. Although rhinoplasty can do this, it can also correct a number of other concerns.

Noses come in countless shapes and sizes. The goal of cosmetic rhinoplasty is to bring your nose into harmony with your face as a whole. While the overall size of the nose can be an issue, several other factors also come into play. These may include:

• A wide bridge

• Flared nostrils

• An overly bulbous nasal tip

Rhinoplasty can address any and all of these characteristics. The result of an effective rhinoplasty procedure is a well-balanced nose that complements your unique facial features.

Breathing Issues

In addition, nose surgery can also alleviate breathing issues associated with a deviated septum or other breathing obstructions, such as overly narrow nostrils. Patients who have rhinoplasty to treat these conditions may also opt to have aesthetic improvements made at the same time. If you are having difficulty breathing through your nose, rhinoplasty may be able to help you breathe better and look better as well.
