Liposuction: Shortcut or Beneficial Tool?

I’ve noticed a trend in popular media to impose some level of shame on people who have undergone cosmetic surgery. While I don”t recommend the excessive use of surgery to significantly alter a person”s appearance, my patients have had great success with procedures such as liposuction in the Seattle area.

Especially for people who follow a healthful diet and exercise regularly, liposuction can be a beneficial procedure. Sometimes small areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise may keep people from truly enjoying their bodies. Liposuction can provide the perfect final step to feeling and looking their best.

While liposuction is a helpful tool for many patients, I do not recommend it for significant weight loss. People who are hoping for significant weight loss should research other treatment options.

Procedures such as liposuction often help people develop a new sense of self-confidence, which can translate into improvements in their personal and professional relationships – and that”s nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about.
