3 Lesser-known Uses for Liposuction

Many people think liposuction in Baton Rouge, LA is just for fat removal. But actually, liposuction can be used as part of a fat grafting procedure that transfers fat from one area of the body to another. Take a look at some of the lesser-known but extremely effective procedures I perform using liposuction:

  • Facelift: I often perform a fat transfer during facelift surgery to add volume to depressed or hollow areas of the face, such as the cheeks. Fat is usually taken from the abdomen or hip area and then purified and injected into the new location. This gives my facelift patients more youthful facial contours and also helps rejuvenate their skin.
  • Breast and Buttock Augmentation: Liposuction can be used to augment the breasts and buttocks and enhance a woman’s curves. Many women like the idea of a “natural” breast or buttock augmentation without the use of implants because no foreign material in inserted into the body. Because a fairly large quantity of fat must be used for these procedures, most people come in for a series of injections spaced out over several weeks.
  • Hand Rejuvenation: Sometimes, hands can look boney and brittle as we age because our skin thins and loses elasticity. Fat grafting for the hands can replenish lost volume and restore a soft, youthful look.
