Focusing on What You Want

At my practice in Toronto, cosmetic surgery patients always meet with me personally to discuss their goals. What concerns me is how frequently a patient makes a comment such as, “Well, my husband thinks I should have a tummy tuck,” or “My best friend had a face lift, and she looks great, so I want one too.” My concern: these patients may be prioritizing someone else’s opinion over their own views.

I encourage my patients to take the time to evaluate what they “really” want, rather than feel pressured by someone else. Our loved ones mean well, and want the best for us – but you are the one who is the expert when it comes to your body and feelings about yourself. Value and trust your own opinion.

So whether you’re considering a face lift in Toronto or another procedure, make sure you know what you really want. Then discuss your cosmetic goals with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can review all of the options for achieving the beautiful results you deserve.
