Connecting With Your Plastic Surgeon

plastic surgery burlington

When looking for a plastic surgeon, patients should consider a doctor’s credentials, education, and experience. However, there are many other factors to weigh beyond a surgeon’s résumé. For my plastic surgery patients in Burlington, I make an effort to develop a connection with each person. Doing so benefits both the patient and me in several ways, including:

  • Establishing trust: Having confidence in a surgeon will make the plastic surgery process much more enjoyable. When a patient trusts his or her surgeon to make the right decisions regarding care, the patient can focus on the positive effects of the transformation rather than worry over the details.
  • Understanding goals: It’s very important for me to understand why my patients are undergoing surgery and what they hope to achieve. This allows me to customize their procedures according to their personal preferences and deliver the results they want.
  • Developing mutual respect: Respect is a crucial element of the doctor-patient relationship. When my patients respect me, they trust my professional opinion. This allows me to make important decisions regarding their surgeries to achieve the best possible outcomes. Similarly, patients should always feel as though their surgeons respect their health, safety, and privacy.

If you don’t connect with a particular surgeon or you feel as though you are forcing a connection, schedule a consultation with another surgeon. Finding a qualified doctor whom you connect with will ultimately provide you with a smoother experience and more rewarding result.
