Liposuction breast reduction is a comparatively new technique, which is part of the reason some surgeons still don’t offer it for their patients. I’m a big proponent of this approach for almost all of my Pasadena breast reduction surgeries, for a few reasons:

1. No scarring – The conventional approach to breast reduction creates as many as 3 different areas of scarring. This isn’t ideal aesthetically (obviously, no one wants extra scarring).

2. Faster results – Liposuction breast reduction, like the traditional surgical approach, doesn’t produce immediate results. Patients do have to wait for their skin to tighten and the nipples to elevate. However, in terms of actual healing speed, liposuction reduction is much faster and more comfortable – recovery involves a bit of bruising and swelling, and some possibility of fluid collection below the skin, and that’s about it.

3. Better control of surrounding areas – I’ll often need to remove a bit of excess fat from areas like the back, arms, and armpit area at the same time as I’m reducing a patient’s breast size, just to keep the results balanced. In conventional breast reduction this would mean two separate procedures – liposuction, then breast reduction – but by using Pasadena breast reduction with liposuction, I can simplify this process and just do both at once, getting patients back on their feet much faster.
