Many people come to my office interested in liposuction in Maryland, but the reality is that this procedure is not right for everyone. Here are some things to keep in mind if you think liposuction will help you achieve your ideal body appearance:
1 – Healthy Habits Have to be the Starting Point
Healthy habits always need to be the starting point for body shape improvements, and a good plastic surgeon will tell you that while liposuction and other body contouring procedures can often enhance the results of weight loss, they are not designed to substitute for practices like eating right and exercising. Good nutrition and exercise are only part of healthy results, but they are still important.
2 – The “Biggest” Problems May Not Be the Most Important
Often, women will see areas of excess fat as “the” problem with their figure, when really they may have very nice curves; the problem may be just that those feminine contours are less noticeable because other features give the body an imbalanced appearance. For instance, some women who are concerned about a “shapeless” lower body actually would benefit the most from a more proportional upper body, in the form of and Maryland breast enhancement procedures like augmentation and lift. Full, well-shaped breasts can balance out lower body curves.
3 – Self-Confidence Makes a Difference
A confident and energized attitude is always sexy and attractive. There’s no doubt that liposuction can help create an appealing body contour, and I’ve found the procedure particularly helpful for women and men with certain nagging “trouble spots,” but don’t expect a cosmetic surgery procedure alone to dramatically change your life. No one’s body is “perfect,” but when you feel great about your appearance, it shows – often in subtle ways. For instance, confidence may help you improve your posture, creating more flattering curves and improved proportionality.
The bottom line: There are many benefits to body contouring cosmetic surgery, and a good liposuction surgeon in Maryland should be able to help you make healthy choices that flatter your natural curves and promote an attractive look and self-image.
