Quick Comment: Why Targeted Liposuction Matters

California, Liposuction

By: Scott Green, MD

Most people see liposuction as a way to get rid of “big” patches of fat on their hips or thighs only, but I think patients need to be careful not to underestimate the significant impact that much smaller procedures can also have.

Most of the patients who come to me for liposuction have decided on plastic surgery only after they’ve tried all the usual methods to get rid of fat, and as a doctor I’m not recommending going under the knife for every little thing. But I also think many women spend a great deal of time and money trying to fix subtle but significant problems with high-end compression garments, creams, body wraps, and so on that at the end of the day leave them feeling worse about themselves because these tactics don’t really change anything.

Targeted procedures for my Sacramento and Folsom liposuction patients, like those to remove larger amounts of fat, can boost self-confidence. They are particularly useful for improving “small details” like bra rolls, jowls, or smaller love handles.
