Going Braless After Breast Lift

Breast Lift, Wisconsin

By: David Janssen, MD

The purpose of breast lift surgery is to counteract the effects of age and gravity to give you perky, firm breasts. Failing to wear a bra can contribute to the speed and severity of breast drooping – the reason for considering a breast lift in the first place. But, once they’ve had a breast lift to counteract these effects, many women seem to think that they can now go braless without concern. Quite simply, they’re wrong.

A breast lift will not make your breasts immune from the effects of gravity or put a stop to the natural aging process. Eventually, your breasts will begin to sag again. Unfortunately, going without a bra can expedite this process as easily as it did prior to your breast surgery. What I always tell my breast lift patients is that they are going to look great after surgery and that taking care of themselves and wearing a bra can make sure their great new look is long-lasting.
