While Dr. Poulter’s training and education have given him the skills he needs to create natural-looking results, his trustworthy and compassionate personality has made his Bloomington and Peoria, Illinois cosmetic surgery patients feel comfortable and safe during their plastic surgery experience. Practicing in Illinois since 1992, Dr. Poulter’s main focus is always on the wellbeing of his patients as he consistently works to provide the kind of quality and results patients deserve.
Education and Training
Dr. Poulter graduated from both the University of Illinois (1981) and from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (1985) where he completed his medical degree. After earning his degrees, Dr. Poulter traveled to the University of Missouri-Columbia Residency Program where he completed his General Surgery residency from 1985-1990, later becoming Chief Resident in 1990. From 1990-1992, he completed a Plastic Surgery Fellowship and since then has been practicing in Illinois.
Dr. Poulter has had many staff appointments and has contributed research to his field. Additionally, Dr. Poulter is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery (General) (1992) and the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1994). He is also a member of various professional societies and boards.
Body Contouring
Dr. Poulter is one of the few plastic surgeons who specializes in body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), body lifting, and liposuction in Peoria and in Central Illinois. Having treated over 16,000 patients from across the U.S., Dr. Poulter is highly experienced in body contouring and has completed supplemental training in advanced body contouring techniques to provide satisfying results for patients.
